Team 1 – Innovation axis

The second axis combines two of our past research interests: the study of the mechanism of action of marketed drugs as a source of innovation, and the characterization of new pain targets. This research strategy has led to the discovery of new innovative targets for chronic pain relief. These targets will now be studied further thanks to clinical exploration and collaborations with the school of chemistry of Clermont-Ferrand. The first part of this research axis will be dedicated to the improvement of the antidepressants’ benefit/risk ratio, the study of the mechanism of action of paracetamol and on the optimization of the use of NMDA antagonists. The second part will be focused on new innovating treatment of CIPN and on the pathophysiology and pharmacology of joint pain.
